Description of Class: Mindfulness involves staying in the present moment, on purpose, without judgment. There is a lot of research showing the benefits of mindfulness on emotional and physical wellbeing. Practicing mindfulness and becoming more mindful can improve the ability to deal with stress, reduce reactivity, and improve relationships. Living in today’s world, we can be pulled in many directions at once and often feel stressed. We all want to provide for and protect our kids, and at the same time, being constantly worried or on edge isn’t helpful. Mindfulness can help you stay calm in stressful moments, manage emotions so you don’t feel overwhelmed by them, and improve communication. Mindfulness can also help you be present with your families to fully enjoy the pleasant moments. This workshop will be both skills-based and experiential, meaning that I will teach mindfulness and we will practice together and discuss how to use the skills at home.
